In-person Service
Our High Commission in Nicosia offers a range of services including passport, consular and notarial services.
These services are offered strictly via an appointment system and fees apply in Australian Dollars ($) ONLY.
Please book one appointment for each service required (click 'Book Appointment').
Passport services are available Monday - Friday, between 8:30am and 12:30pm (except public holidays)
You need to allow a minimum of six weeks to receive a new passport. Please lodge your passport application form well ahead of your planned travel.
In-Person Applications
If you fall under one of the following categories, you MUST lodge your application in person at the Australian High Commission, Nicosia.
- First time applicants – all ages
- First adult passport and your child passport was issued to you at 15 years or younger
- Replacing a lost, stolen, cancelled or damaged passport
- Name change or personal details change on the passport
- First passport after resuming citizenship
- Replacing a limited validity passport, emergency passport, or other temporary travel document
- You cannot answer the security questions for the renewal form.
You must book an appointment to submit your passport application in person at the High Commission.
Mailed in passport renewal:
Adult renewal by mail
Eligibility: For an ADULT passport renewal, you must be 18 years and over and you will need a passport that:
- was issued when you were aged 16 or older
- was issued on or after 1 January 2006
- had, when it was issued, at least two years’ validity
- has your current name, date of birth, place of birth and gender, and
- has not been reported lost, stolen, or cancelled.
If you don’t meet these criteria, you’ll need to lodge your application in person by appointment only.
If you can answer yes to all the above, complete your Adult Renewal Passport Application (PC7) at online and follow the instructions below.

1. Complete your renewal application form online
- The application must be lodged within six months of completion
2. Print and sign your application form
- Print your application on plain white A4 paper, using black ink only. Make sure your form has printed in full and isn't cut off at the top or bottom of the page.
- Sign the form at Section 5 using black pen, ensuring it is within the signature box. Make sure there are no alterations or whiteout on the signature or the date.
3. Photos
- Two recent identical colour photos, less than six months old, plus 1 photo with your full name written on the back. Refer to photo guidelines for more information
- Do NOT attach the photos to the form as this may damage them
4. Previous/Expired passport
- A photocopy of the biodata page of your most recent passport (this does not need to be certified. Do NOT copy every page of your passport). The photocopy should be on A4 paper, please do not cut to size. DO NOT send your previous passport.
5. Payment
- Complete the credit card payment authorisation form. You will need to include this with your passport application.

7. How long will it take?
- Please allow a minimum of six weeks to receive a new passport once payment has been made. PLEASE NOTE incomplete applications will cause delays.
8. Collection
- Upon receipt of your renewed passport to the Australian High Commission, Nicosia we will contact you. Collection is in person (no appointment necessary), by another named person, or you may arrange a courier to collect on your behalf (advising them of name on document to be collected).
You may collect your passport without an appointment Monday – Friday (apart from public holidays), between 08:30am – 15:30pm.
Child renewal by mail
Eligibility: For Child passport renewals, the applicant is:
- under the age of 16 (ie 15 or below)
- has previously held an Australian passport
If you don’t meet these criteria, you’ll need to lodge your application in person by appointment only.
If you can answer yes to all the above, complete your PC8 passport renewal application online and follow the instructions below:
Children aged 16 or 17 must attend an in-person appointment with the lodging parent.
Guide for Child Renewal Passport Application (PC8) by mail
1. Complete your renewal application form online
- The application must be lodged within six months of completion
2. Print and sign your application form
- Print your application on plain white A4 paper, using black ink only. Make sure your form has printed in full and isn't cut off at the top or bottom of the page.
- Sign the form using black pen, within the signature box. Make sure there are no alterations or whiteout on the signature or the date. Children aged 10 years and above are to sign the application.
3. Photos
- Two recent identical colour photos, less than six months old, plus 1 photo with your full name written on the back and signed by the guarantor. Refer to photo guidelines for more information
- Do NOT attach the photos to the form as this may damage them

5. Proof of Identification documents for parents
- Photocopies of both parents’ proof of identification and address. Photocopies should be of good quality, black and white or colour are acceptable. For ID cards both sides should be copies.
Name changes: if the current names of either parent are different to how they appear on the child’s birth certificate, please include certified copies of your IDs, your proof of address and documents explaining the change of name, such as a marriage certificate.
6. Signatures
- Children 10 years or older must provide a signature unless there is a medical reason or disability that prevents them from signing ie Doctors verification
- Parental Consent is required for a child passport. Everyone who is giving consent must sign section 15 of the form in front of a witness. Parents cannot witness each other’s signature. The witness must be a 3rd party.
7. Additional Documentation
- Depending on your circumstances, we may require other documents. We will contact you upon receipt of your application to advise if any further documents are required.
8. Payment
- Complete the credit card payment authorisation form. You will need to include this with your passport application.
